Birthed in the tobacco-laden countryside of Wilson, North Carolina, Braxton D. Bowser Sr. entered the world August 25th, 1974. The second of their four children, Mother Linda P. Bowser and the late Bishop W.E. Bowser taught Pastor Bowser to love God, His Word and His people, while providing him Bowser with a loving home.
After an angelic visitation at the tender age of 7, Pastor Bowser accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. At 18, Bowser accepted the call to preach The Gospel, later ministering his first Sermon "Out of the Night and Into the Morning!"
Bowser’s love of people led him to attend Saint Augustine’s University, graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Bowser later worked for 9 years as a Substance Abuse Counselor and Family Therapist. While attending St. Aug, Bowser’s life was forever changed when he met Kimberly T. Hutcheson whom he affectionately calls his “Island Queen”
Following their courtship, Bowser and Hutcheson were married on a beautiful sunny morning June 12th, 1999. Blessed and united, God blessed their union with three wonderful children, Braxton Jr., Christopher William and Tiara Nicole.
In 2005 Pastor Bowser, and his family, obeyed the call of God to establish the Agape Christan Center Church of God in Christ (COGIC) in Knightdale, NC. Pastor Bowser later renamed Agape Christian Center to Agape International Church, as he understood that the congregation of Agape were international themselves.
For over two decades, Pastor Bowser faithfully served his spiritual father and mentor Bishop Stenneth E. Powell Sr. of Abundant Life COGIC. In 2014, Bishop Powell installed him as Superintendent of the Triangle District in the North Carolina 2nd Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.
